The Unitarian Society of Ridgewood, in line with the values and beliefs of Unitarian Universalism in general, is committed to welcoming, embracing, and celebrating folks of all sexual orientations and all genders. Our theology teaches us that all people are beloved, sacred, beautiful, and deserving of respect and care.
For decades, UUs have been at the forefront of liberal religious traditions fighting for marriage equality and for legislation that recognizes the humanity and rights of LGBTQ+ folks. Many UU congregations, including our own, have undergone trainings to ensure that we are able to wholeheartedly and openly welcome everyone who walks through our doors.
At USR we fly the updated PRIDE flag that includes acknowledgement of our trans siblings as well as our BIPOC LGBTQ+ siblings. We endeavor always to be a safe place for children, youth, and adults to live their full truths, experiencing love, warmth, and support on their journeys.
Whoever you are,
whomever you love,
Whatever your gender expression,
Whatever your pronouns,
Whatever labels you embrace or reject,
You are welcome here at USR.
