As Facilitator of the Wider World Circle I\u2019ve seen first hand\u00a0the passion and devotion of our membership to fulfill one of the USR\u2019s most significant\u00a0missions -acting for justice, transforming self and world.<\/p>\n
Whether it\u2019s been a zoom speaker on immigration or the environment, a film on voter
\nsuppression, petitions on legislation affecting the cumulative effects of pollution on low
\nincome communities or letters of support for humane treatment of detainees during the
\nCovid crisis – our Circle has provided a forum and community to collectively express our
\nvalues. This Fall, under the leadership of Carolyn Musser, the Racial Justice Team has
\nled a \u2018get out the vote\u2019 effort that resulted in non partisan postcarding to over 6,000
\npossible voters, mainly in areas of the country where there is active intent to suppress
\nvoting.<\/p>\n
In addition, the Wider World Circle encompasses other teams, like an active
\nReproductive Justice team and groups with interests in justice and compassion
\ninvolving LGBTQ, mental health and food insecurity issues.\u00a0We welcome your ideas, we welcome your interest, we welcome your participation at\u00a0any level. And I personally welcome your suggestions on how we can make the Wider\u00a0World Circle even more robust.<\/p>\n
